I definitely believe that Hinmon has a right to dress any way he likes without being stereotyped. Unfortunately, wearing the saggy/baggy jeans and having your hair in braids or dreadlocks is often stereotyped as ‘thuggish’ or ‘hood’. People have different ways of expressing themselves whether it is through clothing, hair, tattoos, etc. For example, Rastafarians keep their hair in dreadlocks based on the bible’s command not to cut one’s hair and to represent the lion’s mane, which stands for strength. Until you know the actually person wearing the hair, one should not pass judgment. Everyone is entitled to his or her own opinions and Midgette has a right to his. It is unfortunate that stereotypes of all kinds control society. I personally do not like to see the saggy pants with the underwear showing and would not like to see the leaders of today walking around like that. I believe there is a time and place for everything and clothes that fit properly and are on the correct part of your waist is a professional look. To be taken seriously, one must dress the part. When you reach the point of your education when you are going on internships and interviews you should dress to impress and show you mean business.

“The Bias of Language, The Bias of Pictures”
Postman and Powers claim that there are differences between stationary pictures, moving pictures, and language. Stationary pictures by themselves cannot deal with the unseen, the remote, and the internal, of the abstract and cannot present a concept about the world (Gray-Rosendale, 2008, p.485). Words must be used to describe what the picture is representing as related to the point being portrayed. Pictures just show a particular thing. Moving pictures can represent and evoke emotions and ideas. They help to capture the attention of an audience quickly. Language is what makes the stationary and moving pictures understandable (Gray-Rosendale, 2008, p.485). The differences between the three are extremely important to the larger point of the essay. If the audience does not know the difference between the pictures and language then the essay itself will not make any sense. It is a must to know the difference and importance of all three to be aware of how the media and television show capture their audiences.
The author’s claim about today’s newscast is that we as a society are only getting part of the truth. The media mainly shows the part of the story that is going to grab our attention during a short amount of time. They use images and language of destruction, death, etc. because it is what appeals to human nature. I believe that the media definitely distorts the truth to grab ratings. I have stopped watching the news at one point because I was tired of all the negativity that was being broadcasted daily. It starts to make one lose hope humanity and the future. The positive things that are being done on a daily basis get only a few seconds of spotlight during the news whereas a shooting or murder gets makes primetime.

May The Force Be With Volkswagen:Darth Vader
The video starts out with a little boy trying to use the ‘force’ on different objects. He attempts to use the force on the family dog, an exercise bike, a doll, the washer and dryer, and his bowl of cereal. When his attempts to move the objects fail, he gives up. When the child’s father arrives home, the little boy decides to try the force one more time on his father’s car. To the amazement of the child, the car starts and the headlights flash. Unknown to the boy, his father started the car from inside the house with the remote. I would say that this advertisement accurately represents a 21st century two parent household. The father played along with the child by starting the car remotely, whereas the mother appeared to be a little tired of the Darth Vader act because she had been watching him doing it for most of the day.
Even though Darth Vader has been around for over 30 years, he is still well known among today’s households. I think this is because many of today’s parents grew up watching the Star Wars movies and due to the remakes and new episodes, their children are familiar with them as well.

objective analysis of justin bieber video baby
This music video is taking place at a bowling alley, where a young boy, Justin, is pursuing a young girl that has taken his heart. Justin and the young girl appear to be competing against each other through bowling and even break dancing as well. The video shows that teenage boys and girls are falling in love way too soon. The video shows a lot of physical interaction between Justin and the teen-girl. The separations of the different genres of music are becoming harder to differentiate. It is becoming more common for rap artists to have a drop on a track of an artist from another musical genre.
